Turkish Stones met with the global architectural community at the World Architecture Festival 2024, one of the most prestigious events in the world of architecture, held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore between 6-8 November. With the participation of distinguished architects, academicians, and industry professionals from various countries, Turkish Stones effectively showcased its support for the “Best Use of Stone” category. As part of this initiative, they ensured that high-quality projects utilizing natural stone were evaluated and awarded by an international jury within the festival, achieving a significant promotional impact.
Turkish Stones, created to introduce the rich stone potential of Anatolia—the birthplace of stone—along with Turkey’s advanced industrial infrastructure, production lines supported by digital technologies, and craftsmanship capable of achieving even the finest details through manual labor, is focused on promoting the Turkish natural stone sector to the global stage. Through initiatives like participation in the World Architecture Festival, Turkish Stones aims to make significant strides in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, urban design, and art.
The World Architecture Festival, an international event that brings together architects, interior designers, and industry professionals from almost every country in the world each year, not only showcases the most creative architectural and interior design projects but also hosts inspiring discussions and celebrates excellence in architecture by awarding prestigious prizes to leading designs. At this year’s event, held from November 6-8 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, finalists presented their projects to a jury of 175 experts, and awards were given to outstanding designs across 43 categories.

The “Best Use of Stone Prize” was Presented With the Support of Turkish Stones
This year, Turkish Stones, which sponsored the “Best Use of Stone” award at the World Architecture Festival, facilitated the evaluation of seven completed architectural and interior design projects by an international jury. These projects showcased innovative and exemplary uses of stone, a versatile, durable, and sustainable material. The jury panel, consisting of Yasemin Şener, founder of pRchitect Media & Communications; Simon Doody, partner at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios; and Tim Kwan, founding partner of Office AIO, awarded the WAF 2024 “Best Use of Stone” category prize to Play Architecture for their project OH HO Residence in India.

The Turkish Stones Booth Became The Focal Point of Attention at the Festival, Captivating Architects and Professionals Alike…
The Turkish Stones booth, which showcased the unique qualities of Turkish natural stones and the ancient 12,000-year legacy of stone in Anatolia, became a central point of attraction for participants at the festival. Featuring examples of Turkish stones that have become global brands, the booth displayed the journey of Turkish natural stones through time on a large screen. Visitors were also given the opportunity to experience this journey firsthand with VR headsets, offering them an immersive experience.
On the second day of the event, the Turkish Stones booth was honored by a visit from H.E. Mehmet Burçin Gönenli, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Singapore, and Mihriban Esin Arslan, Trade Attaché of the Republic of Turkey. A cocktail event was also held at the booth, bringing together prominent figures from the natural stone and architecture industries. Following the cocktail, Ambassador Mehmet Burçin Gönenli hosted Turkish Stones representatives and architects from Turkey at a special reception at the Turkish Embassy Residence.
The Turkish Stones booth became a gathering point for leading architecture firms from Turkey attending the festival, including AOMTD, BAB Architects, Bilgin Architects, Dome+Partners, DS Landscape & Architecture, EAA-Emre Arolat Architecture, Erkal Architects, GAD Architecture, GEOMIM, Iglo Architects, KG Mimarlık, Koop Architects, Ofisvesaire, and Zoom/TPU, among others, fostering valuable networking and collaboration throughout the event.
