About Project

MF Mansion is located in the Kahramandere neighborhood of İzmir’s Güzelbahçe district, on an 800-square-meter plot. The four-story residence (including basement, ground, first, and attic floors) has a total construction area of 537 square meters and was designed by our studio for the MF family and their distinguished guests, encompassing architectural, interior, and landscape design.

Because the architectural and interior design processes were developed simultaneously, climate data, landscape orientation, spatial relationships, and privacy were all considered from the very beginning. The distinctive identity of the project emerged through the 18-degree rotation of the first-floor spaces, a gesture made to enhance the panoramic bay view. This rotation generated diverse interior geometries and meaningful recesses that house sculptures, creating a seamless dialogue between the architecture and interior design.

Material selection was integral to the design narrative. Natural stone, with its expressive veins and textures, played a central role in defining the mansion’s spatial character and atmosphere. Each stone was chosen in harmony with the space’s function, proportion, and the overall stylistic vision shared with the client. The cutting method, surface finish, and installation technique were all carefully tailored to highlight the intrinsic beauty of the material.

On the first floor, the master bedroom—distinguished by its unique geometry and roof form—features White Marble from Afyon, Italy, selected for its homogeneity and subtle veining that harmonizes with warm wooden tones. Used across the headboard, dressing table base, vanity, and cabinet handles, the marble reinforces visual continuity and serenity. Large slab dimensions enhance spaciousness, while indirect lighting emphasizes the marble’s calm yet powerful presence.

In contrast, the boy’s room expresses strength and texture through a restrained use of slate from the Aşağı Cuma Quarry in Bergama, İzmir. The rough texture, accentuated by thin mortar and indirect light, highlights the tactile beauty of the material.

On the ground floor, spaces such as the kitchen and living areas are designed in black-and-white contrast, featuring Silver Stream Marble from Iran, whose fluid, painterly veins convey richness and timeless elegance. The steel staircase and elevator are clad in Calacatta Vena Marble from Italy, where continuous veining across steps and risers showcases exceptional craftsmanship and pattern alignment.

The master bathroom—one of the most striking areas of the house—features Beige Stariato Onyx from the Alacakaya Quarry in Elazığ, paired with Pulpis Armani Marble from the Topkara Quarry in Balıkesir. The interplay of light and pattern continues seamlessly through every surface connection, while the translucent quality of the onyx softly illuminates the space, enriching the sensory experience.

In the Turkish Bath located in the basement, Palisandro Marble from Avellino, Italy, and Marmara Marble from the Yusuf Hoca Tepe Quarry on Marmara Island are used to create a refined visual tension between flowing and linear patterns. The mirroring technique and 51-degree angle of the navel stone amplify spatial movement and the rhythmic dialogue between these two distinctive stones.
