The relationship between interior and exterior spaces is articulated through spatial continuity and layered transitions rather than rigid boundaries. The settlement is conceived as a year-round living environment, defined through surfaces, voids, and its integration with the natural context. This approach informs the overall spatial logic of the project.
The site’s location along the shoreline has been one of the key factors shaping the spatial organization of the settlement. Building masses are positioned in alignment with the natural slope of the terrain; this strategy establishes a continuous spatial sequence linking ground level, the courtyard, and interior spaces. Terraces associated with the residential units are separated from shared areas through level differences, defining private outdoor spaces.
The settlement comprises seven residential blocks organized around a centrally located green courtyard open to communal use. In response to the linear configuration of the site, the building masses are oriented perpendicular to the shoreline, allowing each residential unit to maintain a visual relationship with the sea. Pedestrian paths between the building masses intersect toward the courtyard, forming a coherent spatial layout; integrated with organically designed landscape and water elements, this system guides users toward the shoreline. The courtyard functions as a shared living space that mediates between building masses, supports social interaction, and sustains continuity with the topography.
Residential units establish a direct connection to open spaces through their terraces, integrating interior use with the exterior. Semi-open areas defined by roof overhangs operate as transitional spaces that enhance spatial comfort through daylight control, shading, and natural ventilation, ensuring continuity throughout the settlement. The health center and café located at ground level reinforce the project’s relationship with the coastline, forming focal points of public activity.
The building envelope reinforces spatial continuity through material and surface articulation. Natural stone at ground level anchors the building to the topography, while the restrained plaster surfaces of the upper floors emphasize the interplay of light and shadow on the façade. Metal-finished roofs and overhangs, together with shutters and sun-shading elements, contribute to a restrained and coherent architectural expression while supporting climatic comfort.
