Bringing together architects, designers, and thought-leaders from around the world, the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2025 took place on 12–14 November at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Once again, Turkish Stones sponsored the “Best Use of Stone” category, continuing its support for projects that highlight creative stone applications and contemporary craftsmanship.
Throughout the festival, the Turkish Stones stand attracted strong interest from leading professionals in the architecture community. Visitors had the opportunity to experience the timeless beauty, rich textures, and masterfully crafted character of Türkiye’s natural stones. At the heart of the stand, the iconic “White Wall” evolved continuously with the contributions of attendees, transforming into a living installation shaped by collective creativity.

The second day of WAF delivered particularly inspiring moments. At the Festival Hall Stage, world-renowned architect Emre Arolat presented his thought-provoking keynote “Timeless,” showcasing selected stone-crafted projects and emphasizing the enduring legacy of natural stone in contemporary architecture. That same day, Turkish Commercial Attaché Ömer İnce visited the Turkish Stones stand, offering his support and appreciation.
As the day drew to a close, a warm cocktail reception brought together designers and industry professionals from around the world. After an intense program, guests gathered to exchange ideas and strengthen professional connections.

The final day of the festival featured the highly anticipated “Best Use of Stone Special Prize” jury session. Finalist designers presented their stone-crafted projects, each demonstrating high-quality material application and craftsmanship. Following the session, plaques were presented to the finalists and jury members by the Boards of Directors of İMİB, EMİB, and BAİB.
WAF 2025 concluded with a remarkable awards ceremony. This year’s “Best Use of Stone” prize was awarded to Atelier Global Limited for their project “Dialogue with Nature – Commune Store.” The architects of Atelier Global received their award on the WAF stage from the board members of IMIB, EMIB, and BAIB.
The festival also placed a special spotlight on this winning project. Located in Houyuan Village in Northern Fujian, the transformation of an abandoned primary school into the “Dialogue with Nature – Commune Store” created a sustainable model aimed at reviving local rice culture and supporting rural development. With its sensitive use of natural materials, harmonious relationship with the village fabric, and community-oriented approach, the project stood out as an exemplary contemporary interpretation of stone in architecture.
This three-day event, where Turkish natural stones were powerfully represented on the international architectural stage, left lasting impressions on both industry professionals and the Turkish Stones community.
