The Studio86 Interiors Office, located in the Beytepe district of Ankara, is a project where the firm’s distinctive design language comes to life through both interior design and execution. Completed in 2023, the office spans two floors, covering a total area of 260 m², and has been conceived to create a modern work environment that balances refinement with a bold design statement. The program includes three private offices, one meeting room, four wet areas, a kitchen, an enclosed winter garden, and a storage area, all delivered at the construction phase.
The dynamic structure of the Studio86 Interiors team, their corporate language, passion for art, and, most importantly, their core design approach have played a decisive role in shaping the spatial organization. The project merges the timeless Mid-Century Modern style—where form, function, and aesthetics remain perpetually relevant—with contemporary design dynamics, resulting in a vibrant office atmosphere enriched with artistic touches.
At the entrance, the reception desk combines an iconic form with a large travertine surface, creating a striking visual impact while reflecting the firm’s identity. The predominantly open layout defines distinct office areas through material transitions on the floors. The meeting room, considered the heart of the ground floor both perceptually and technically, is modular in nature. Surrounding wooden forms incorporate the separators of the office space, generating a holistic visual effect. Extending from the reception to the wet areas, kitchen, and open office, the monochrome volume continues the design language, forming a second modular entity on the ground floor.
On the upper floor, where three executive offices are located, the design continues to distinguish spaces through glass partitions and material selections. Artworks from the Studio86 Interiors Capsule Collection accompany the staircase, guiding visitors toward Executive Office 1, which is accessed via a signature custom door. Complemented by mobile furniture, iconic lighting elements, and art pieces, as well as display shelves for Lego collections and service areas, this office serves as a mini showroom representing the entire firm. Material and color selections are deliberately restrained to avoid visual clutter, using intermediary tones rather than conventional warm or cool shades. Particularly notable is the defining color of the office, a reddish, rustic tone (Jotun Whispering Red), which includes pastel undertones, providing both warmth and a calming effect. Grey concrete flooring in common areas forms a neutral backdrop for the varied wall tones, while consistent wooden finishes harmonize with the flooring.
Among the project’s material choices, travertine is especially prominent, selected for both its enduring aesthetic appeal and its durability, contributing to the sustainability of the interior. Lighting design was executed with equal attention to detail, crafting a tailored scenario for the space. Modular luminaires in the open office (Lamp83 Wiggle) offer both automatic and manual modes for flexible use, while their forms enhance the overall design. Spot lighting highlights artworks, and integrated LEDs accentuate fixed furniture forms. On the executive floor, iconic decorative lighting is paired with spot and pendant fixtures to enrich the visual environment.
