In Samsun Central Organized Industrial Zone, where there are industrial and mixed structure systems with different characters, it is aimed that the designed structure will show a strong, simple and consistent stance by allowing flexible spatial use.
A new steel axle is added to the corner parcel where is located on the main axle in the north-south direction, to be integrated with the existing prefabricated warehouse structure and existing reinforced concrete structure. 3 different structures that formed with the added axle is discussed with a holistic approach and sense of volume and space is felt at the maximum level.
The existing of the new steel axle with its own structure on the façade, which is added to meet the basic needs – in the shell that surrounds the combined structure – determines the character of the building and also by supporting with platform and eaves, it created “massive linear image” concept.
The ground floor platform which is along the building façade enable the main entrance to be highlighted in the horizontal plane with functional and rational necessity. It also become a structural element that defines the usage area of production and management employees.
With the motto “Segman is working”, is aimed to keep the relationship at maximum with outdoor and the main units which are located parallel to the front. With this attitude which is thought to increase indoor volume performance, a stance is taken against the closed building group system in the region.
Indoor zoning is supported with a tear formed in the steel structure. The circulation corridors distribute parallel to the facade and provide visual contact with the spaces. The linear image concept is supported by emphasizing the height difference at the upper elevation of the steel axle with the existing reinforced concrete structure.
With the deck attached to the two axles used from the existing warehouse, a volume surrounded by circulation is created and daylight is used thanks to the transparent roof covering.
A mass image and a sense of interior space are created with the determination of the design’s character by the volumetric and structural build elements.
