About Project

There was already a school block, dining hall, dormitory building, and a kindergarten building in the site area. However, since the buildings other than the kindergarten are not earthquake resistant, the demolition decision was taken and a new school and dormitory structure was planned in line with finance.

Completed despite significant financial constraints, the building was designed with a consciousness of its functional and social role. Formed around a central courtyard, the campus consists of four major connected masses; a school building, two dormitory blocks, an indoor sports hall, and a single-storey laboratory mass that was added to the program during the construction. All blocks are connected to each other with the arcade line and form the campus courtyard.

The school building is a 24-classroom school that was constructed as a replacement for the old school building that was demolished because of the lack of seismic resistance. In addition to this, there are two dormitory blocks within a total of 96 beds, a sports centre with 240 seating capacity, and a laboratory block with 6 units including innovative technology laboratories.

In the development phase of the project, the fact that the project area is located in the developing region of the city and has a dense tree texture was considered a positive value. The basic concept determined for the project was to create a community of buildings gathered around the courtyard, with an internal and external spatial balance.

The project is the sum of interacting areas that includes culture, social life, science, art, and technology, which form the part of education. Since education is perceived as all of these components, the main objective of the project is to create spatial continuity by foreseeing various spatial experiences at different points of interacted areas. The main aim is to create a new and social living space for the users, beyond the general education perception.
