The project was designed in Aliağa, İzmir for the ceramics brand Anatolia Tiles operating in Canada. According to the trends in Canada, they have decided to use Turkey as a production base to market the products they have manufactured in Europe and even some of them in Turkey, especially in the southern parts of the United States. While the project was being designed, solutions were produced by using references in Canada in the operational part. The showroom and large meeting rooms are located on the ground floor of the building. On the upper floor, it is designed to serve the open office section with the dining hall, cafe, and terraces. A welcome section with a majestic staircase consisting of three floors has been created at the entrance. It is important to provide a pleasant and qualified working environment in the open office section designed for the personnel. Another important point is the showrooms with a size of 800 sqm and a ceiling height of 8 meters, where the products will be exhibited, and the meeting rooms where they will host their guests at the same time. Upon request, two study rooms that the owners of the company can use when they come to Turkey, meeting and lounge areas where they can host their guests, and a compartment that can be used as a residence are designed. These needs were resolved on the rooftop and were aimed in the design to share a pleasant atmosphere with the guests with private roof gardens, a gym, and rooms in the comfort of a hotel while in the other sections, they can receive their guests in the office environment and at the same time a large roof garden.
It was wanted to design the building transparently so that both the operational and landscape parts of the building received plenty of light, so a solution had to be created for the effect of the hot air and sun rays brought by the climatic conditions of the Aegean region. The building is placed in a refreshing water activity that creates a pleasant atmosphere, both as a visual and functional necessity. The exterior of the building is protected from the sun’s movements, both horizontally and vertically by using a steel carcass.
